Ridetech's stainless 4 Link has been designed with convenience in mind. Constructed with R-Joints and heavy tubing, alongside laser cut bracketry, the parallel 4 Link's panhard bar allows for precise axle positioning. In modern vehicles, it avoids interference between the upper bars and the gas tank. Bolting on to the frame and axle brackets, the single link frame mount reduces time for installation and makes it easier to visualize. Now including R-Joints, the 4 Link is available separately or with air springs, weld-on bracketry, and ShockWaves. How does it compare to the triangulated 4 Link? Both styles offer the same functionality, keeping the axle in place by the upper and lower links, while the triangulated upper bars form a triangle. With the parallel 4 Link, a panhard bar horizontally connects the axle and frame, yet the parallel fits better in trucks due to the gas tank's location. Space needs to be considered,We typically try to place the lower bars level at ride height. this will minimize ƒ??roll steerƒ??ƒ?? (slight wheelbase change caused by the arc of the bars going through their travel). The upper bars should also be level, or slightly down at the front, if need be. This configuration will provide stable handling and braking characteristics. It is important to get the bars exactly the same from side to side to avoid unpredictable handling problems. It is also extremely important to make sure the panhard bar is level at your highway ride height. This will minimize side travel of the rear axle induced by the arc of the panhard bar going through its travel. Obviously there are precise formulas for placement of the 4 link bars to maximize certain performance criteria, but these performance differences are quite small on a road car. Put the bars in level, or close to it, at ride height, and youƒ??ll be fine.
